Station 81 (Leach Station) is
located near Peachtree City's west village. It was built in 2000
and is the home to the department's training facility which
includes a training room able to accommodate 60-80 students. The
training room has state of the art training aids in the form of
computer and audio-visual equipment. It is also designated as
the city's emergency operations center (EOC), to be used in the event of a
disaster. In addition there is a fire service library and
physical fitness workout facility. Located at the rear of the
complex, is a two story "burn building" which was constructed in
2001 to be used for live fire training. Adjacent to the "burn
building" is a "roof simulator", constructed in 2003,
which is used for aerial
and ladder operations training. In addition a vehicle extrication training
pad, pump testing facility, and confined space rescue simulator
are located at the training facility.
Additional features located at the station include a cascade air
filling station, custom turnout gear laundering/decontamination
center, and facility/apparatus maintenance workshop. Station
81's apparatus include an Engine, ALS Ambulance, Aerial Tower,
Reserve/Training Engine, Mass Casualty Trailer, and a Mobile
Communications Van.
