The Peachtree
City Fire Department (PCFD) is located in Peachtree City,
Georgia, approximately 35 miles south of Atlanta. Our department
is a combination career/volunteer department that provides
Advance Life Support Emergency Medical Services, Fire
Suppression, Fire Prevention and Education,
Extrication, Hazardous Materials Response, Dive/Water Rescue,
and Technical Rescue to the citizens of our community. We
currently employ 67 career members and have 55 volunteers. The
department operates out of four stations to protect and serve
approximately 38,000 residents. More than 2600 calls are
answered each year, which is an increase of 211% over the past
ten years. The average response time (2006) for fire calls is
4:52 and 4:26 for EMS calls. There are over 11,000 single family
residences and many large apartment and condominium complexes
within the city limits. The city is also the home of many large
department stores, restaurants, and retail outlets. There are
many major industrial plants located within the city. Peachtree
City has its own airport called Falcon Field. All the
department's stations have an Engine and ALS Ambulance. The
other apparatus are distributed among the various stations. The
Peachtree City Fire Department is actively seeking National
Accreditation under the auspices of the Commission on Fire
Accreditation International (CFAI). |
