The Peachtree City Fire Department (PCFD) is located in Peachtree City, Georgia, approximately 35 miles south of Atlanta. Our department is a combination career/volunteer department that provides Advance Life Support Emergency Medical Services, Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention and Education, Extrication, Hazardous Materials Response, Dive/Water Rescue, and Technical Rescue to the citizens of our community. We currently employ 79 career members and have 74 volunteers. The department operates out of four stations to protect and serve approximately 38,000 residents. More than 2700 calls are answered each year, which is an increase of 220% over the past ten years. The average response time (2008) for fire calls is 4:12 and 4:46 for EMS calls. There are over 11,000 single family residences and many large apartment and condominium complexes within the city limits. The city is also the home of many large department stores, restaurants, and retail outlets. There are many major industrial plants located within the city. Peachtree City has its own airport called Falcon Field. All the department's stations have an Engine and ALS Ambulance. The other apparatus are distributed among the various stations. The Peachtree City Fire Department is actively seeking the lowering of our Insurance Service Organization (ISO) rating and National Accreditation under the auspices of the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). |
