Post 209 spent
the weekend of March 23, 24 and 25 at Road Atlanta learning
about the many different aspects of SCCA Road Racing. Our older
kids got to work in the corners helping with flagging the
races. Several of the younger kids got to work in the garage
area helping to inspect and weigh the race vehicles after the
races ended. We were featured in the SCCA Magazine The Steering
Wheel.

Saturday, May 4th
we got up early (with much moaning and groaning) and headed out
to meet with our friends in the Trussville, Al. area for a
friendly competition. Although we didn’t win a trophy this year
we learned a lot and had a fun day.
Our next
Event is the N.F.E.E.C in Champaign Il. This will be especially
fun for our Post as one of our former Volunteer Members, Jack
Rutledge; will be there providing instruction. Mr. Rutledge has
been a well-known, top-level instructor at the University of
Illinois Fire Academy for many years. |
